The Examining Room Chair

The sky vibrates with the rumbling of a passing line of thunderstorms.

In this part of the world, the cyclone season beguiles us with teases and devilish electrical displays.

Those devilish teases...

Hard to flirt when the one you love suffers unknown pangs, left to displays of expertise by specialists, generalists and lookers-on.

For them, I am thankful.  I sit here humbly aware of my ignorance in the Book of Life's chapters on medical knowledge.

My deepest, most vulnerable regards go to Dr. C and the team that works miracles with him, including Kathy, Sabrina, Courtenay, Denise, Monica and one whose name I didn't hear.

Lesson for the day: if you don't have an electromechanical means to squeeze a bag full of saline when gravity's not enough, use your hands or a couple of BP monitor cuffs to apply pressure.

To everyone who stayed late to care for my lifegiver (my better half, if you will), I know that money is not enough to show my joy, thanks and happiness.  May these words find their way to you and express in your thoughts what I cannot express in person.

In moments where I am left with nothing but hands and a pair of eyes to idly thumb through pop culture magazines in an examining room, feeling like an extra thumb (I guess it never hurts to have an extra green thumb, though, eh?), I sit here wondering if I should spend more time reading medical journals and brush up on the latest in healthcare, to understand the terminology to go along with the physical action in front of me.

Another thanks, to Joanna this time.  Your cheerful smile was comforting on a day you didn't know I went through and needed a smile like yours.
