In this study, the right anterosuperior temporal gyrus was prominent among the sites yielding increased signals.  Still, this region was even more active when the subjects first viewed each set of words than it became when they next proceeded to solve this word problem by insight.  The researchers were already interested in this anterosuperior temporal gyrus, because prior human studies had shown it to be a polymodal association region that processed novel semantic associations [ZBR: 154, 247].

The down-up-down alpha pattern appears relevant.  Also interesting is the inverse relationship between the alpha trough in the right posterior parietooccipital region and the gamma peak in the right superior temporal region.
